Calling In Sick
So today I officially am sick. For the first time in MY ENTIRE LIFE I have strep throat. Awesome. My throat feels like glass particles are being swallowed. It's LOVELY. I guess the bright side is I have never had to deal with this EVER before...also, what I THOUGHT was an ear infection is just residual nasty from the ol' strep throat. So my ears look glorious!! That's a plus :) Anyhoo, calling it a day on the ol' bloggy. See you Monday!! Yay Antibiotics!

I Am a Nerd
I love history. I am a nerd. I own it. MSNBC had an article the other day about touring famous author's homesteads. Clearly I was intrigued. It led me to some fabulous homes. Here are just a couple:

The stables at The Mount and then the grand hall of the main house:

How amazing is that???
And since good ol' Samuel Clemens is from around my neck of the woods, I thought this was appropriate:
That is Mark Twain's adult home in Conneticut. I love everything about that house. I love a huge porch and the setting is perfect.
Edith Wharton's The Mount:

Clearly not a lot happening so I thought I would share those random Internet finds. Yes, you are welcome. I am sure they made your day. Maybe tomorrow I will post photos of some interesting species of trees!! Yes, that's it.

Another Wedding?!
Just a few pics I swear! A few weeks ago we went to my friend Kelley's wedding. It was waaaay more Chad's style!! This one included jeans, cowboy boots and Bud Light. We all wore our jeans and boots to the celebration. Major crisis mode almost happened when Aidan realized his boots did not fit! How could you go to a "cowboy wedding" without boots?!?!? Luckily on our way there happens to be a boot store. Well how convenient. Aidan and I ran like maniacs in and out in under 10 minutes. I am sure that store has never seen more determined boot-purchasers. So Aidan was thrilled. He was evening where his "cowboy shirt." You can see here, by the groom's cake, Aidan in his red cowboy shirt (which he had unbuttoned because he was burning up from the dancing that was happening!)...
In case you were curious, James (Kelley's new hubby) is a farmer. They are moving North to the big farm. So of course the groom's cake had his Red Tractors on it. More precisely, the Case tractor pulling the John Deere out of the mud. Oh farmer humor!! Elin had a blast. She ate more fruit kabobs than any adult there and then devoured the delish wedding cake. See, she is serious:
See the evidence of the cake eating???
The ladies began the evening of dancing...this would be me, Aidan and Elin (as I am HOLDING HER) doing the ol' Cha Cha Slide. PS...do you know how HARD that dance is with a 27 pound toddler in your arms?!?! She had a blast though!!
See??? I even got down low...with a baby on my hip!!!
Elin would NOT STOP THE DANCING!!! Making new friends on the dance floor:
If you happened to notice, yes our poor E does not have her own boots. I swear, we love her just as much as Aidan! The only boots that Larry's Boots had when we dashed in were teeny tiny boots or the Ropers in her size and uh $50 for toddler boots?!?! I THINK NOT. So, she is waiting her turn. Next time they have some sassy red cowboy boots in her size? SOLD.
Congrats Kelley and James :)
