We had a great Memorial Day weekend. The weather was sort of sketchy, but it was still awesome. Saturday we went to Grant's Farm to check out the Clydesdales and goats. The kids were beyond thrilled to find that two of the horses in the barn that day had very familiar names...
Poor Lee just wouldn't turn around, too busy snacking on hay...
It's okay though, Aidan was very sure that the donkey's name was Mark. The kid's favorite part after the train ride to the farm, the baby goats. I really thought Elin would be scared of the aggressive little babies. But nope. She LOVED it. They fed those fat little goats. Elin thought it was hysterical that they kept trying to eat her clothes. Aidan was annoyed with that, but loved when the goats butt each other. It was great.
The gross and smelly camel with its adorable and not yet stinky baby...
We (meaning me) were ever so lucky to discover (cough cough) that
Women's Closet Exchange happened to be literally down the street from Grant's Farm. Imagine the coincidence?!!?
Of course my dear husband made the stop and even kept the children in the car so I could experience my favorite place on earth. It was HEAVEN.
It really does run just like the show. Sue was even there. The only difference I noticed is that on the show, it looks a lot bigger. The store really isn't that large. And also, the back room where they do all their buying and stuff is just behind a wall and it is waaaaay messier (more like TONS of inventory) than what they clean up for on the show :) It was a tad more chaotic in there on a Saturday...
Sunday we had lots on the schedule. Chad finally decided to drain the pond to be able to expand it properly. So they did a lot of digging. A lot. They broke through the dam and watched the water run.
They even put a little fence-y thing to catch the fish so we can give them new homes until our pond is re-done.
While that was happening, we went over to the neighbors for a little Memorial Day party. It was fantastic until the rain came. Dang it. The kids all had a blast. There were a lot of them!
We finished off the rainy afternoon over there with a little birthday celebration for Kiley. The kids were worn out!
Chad was worried with the intense rain we were getting that our pond really wouldn't drain a whole lot. Well, in four hours we were here:
Not too shabby! We will see how this thing goes!!! And that was about it for our weekend. We were all beyond tired yesterday. Now on to recovery week!
