A Taste of Disney

We have lots of pictures coming...here are a few randoms taken from Chad's phone.

Elin loved flying...it was clearly very exciting for her...
Elin wasn't big enough for Test Track at Epcot, but she got the next best thing: an hour wait to see her buddies Chip and Dale. She made sure to explain to Grandma and Grandpa that there is one bossy chipmunk and one fun one. She likes the bossy one, imagine that ;)
One the their favorite things we saw was the Disney Junior Stage show. It had their favorite characters all in one place: Doc McStuffins (quite possibly the best cartoon Disney ever made...I secretly love that show!!), Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey and of course Sofia the First (a close 2nd place to my Doc)...
We learned that Elin is definitely no where near ready to drive a car...and that I may have A) whiplash B) a concussion or C) BOTH. Watch out when this girl turns 16...she LOVED it...and maybe also thought she was in a Miss America parade...
Our professional photographer team followed up behind us...they surely drove much safer than the crazies in front of them, though Grandma can be sort of a wild card...
Lots more coming. It will probably be vacation central here for a while :)

Surprise Vacation

In case you noticed, we were MIA last week. We surprised the kids with a trip to Disney. We were headed to KC for The Color Run and then just jumped on a plane right after that. They had no idea. It was awesome. I have lots of pictures coming. But first, the run. The night before, we got to enjoy the waterpark at the hotel...

Saturday morning Aidan and I took off for the run...our cheerleaders came for the finish...

It was super fun. Aidan had a blast. They still had no idea we were going to Disney. We spent the rest of the day shopping and running around town.

We told the kids when we got to our next hotel since it happened to be literally in the middle of the airport. They were beyond excited. It was fabulous. The fun started the next morning. It was an adventure and such a great time. More to come!

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. The weather was sort of sketchy, but it was still awesome. Saturday we went to Grant's Farm to check out the Clydesdales and goats. The kids were beyond thrilled to find that two of the horses in the barn that day had very familiar names...
Poor Lee just wouldn't turn around, too busy snacking on hay...
It's okay though, Aidan was very sure that the donkey's name was Mark.  The kid's favorite part after the train ride to the farm, the baby goats. I really thought Elin would be scared of the aggressive little babies. But nope. She LOVED it. They fed those fat little goats. Elin thought it was hysterical that they kept trying to eat her clothes. Aidan was annoyed with that, but loved when the goats butt each other. It was great.

The gross and smelly camel with its adorable and not yet stinky baby...

We (meaning me) were ever so lucky to discover (cough cough) that Women's Closet Exchange happened to be literally down the street from Grant's Farm. Imagine the coincidence?!!?
Of course my dear husband made the stop and even kept the children in the car so I could experience my favorite place on earth. It was HEAVEN.

It really does run just like the show. Sue was even there. The only difference I noticed is that on the show, it looks a lot bigger. The store really isn't that large. And also, the back room where they do all their buying and stuff is just behind a wall and it is waaaaay messier (more like TONS of inventory) than what they clean up for on the show :) It was a tad more chaotic in there on a Saturday...

Sunday we had lots on the schedule. Chad finally decided to drain the pond to be able to expand it properly. So they did a lot of digging. A lot. They broke through the dam and watched the water run.

They even put a little fence-y thing to catch the fish so we can give them new homes until our pond is re-done.
While that was happening, we went over to the neighbors for a little Memorial Day party. It was fantastic until the rain came. Dang it. The kids all had a blast. There were a lot of them!

We finished off the rainy afternoon over there with a little birthday celebration for Kiley. The kids were worn out!

Chad was worried with the intense rain we were getting that our pond really wouldn't drain a whole lot. Well, in four hours we were here:
Not too shabby! We will see how this thing goes!!! And that was about it for our weekend. We were all beyond tired yesterday. Now on to recovery week!
