Dad's 50th Birthday

This weekend we had a suprise party for Dad's 50th. We all surprised him at Madison's for a dinner and cake with many of his friends, families and co-workers. It was so fun. He had no idea. I can't believe we were able to keep it from him this whole time.

His brother and family came all the way from Dallas to surprise dad. He was so excited!
Grandpa from Texas, mom's brother Henry and dad's brother RobChad and his brother Mark
Kat and Dad
Uncle Rob, Aunt Trish, Zach, Angie and Aunt Mary (dad's sister for KC)Lizzy and Aunt Mary
Mark and Aidan. Uncle Mark and Aunt Rebecca were the BEST helpers ever with Aidan that night. It was a long night for him and they really helped us out. THANK YOU GUYS!!

Angie really enjoyed the cake :) Good ol' black frosting
On Sunday we had all the family over to our house for a BBQ. It was great. Aidan, Angie and Zach had a great time running around the place with everyone.

Henry, Tracy, AJ, Heather and Jake even drove back this weekend for dad's party. They had just driven from Omaha the weekend before for the 4th!! We were so glad that they were able to come!! Hopefully we will have some more pics to add...they were able to escape the camera this time!!!

Our 4th of July

For our 4th of July weekend, we went to Jeff City for the Salute to America celebration downtown. There were tons of things that Aidan was so excited about. He rode the carousel with grandma-the fastest,non-seatbelted carousel I have ever see. He loved it. We thought Grandma was going to be sick.

Aidan fed goats. They are much better for him behind a fence than the ol' Grants Farm version that are free to chew on his shoes. He liked throwing the food for them to chase more than feeding them out of his hand.
After goats, there were pony rides and camel rides. Of course, the clean pony rides did not interest him at all, so Aidan and I (dad of course did not want to ride the ol' camel) hopped on the most expensive one-lap camel ride. Let me just say, those things are very tricky to get off of...
Also that weekend, we had a visit from my uncle Henry, aunt Tracy, their kids AJ, Heather and Jake. Here is a pic of AJ, me and Aidan...
When we got home from Jeff City, we went and bought some kiddie fireworks to see how Aidan would like them. Well, he didn't like them one bit. This is the one firework he semi-tolerated...

...A smoke bomb
This was his reaction to every other sparkler that followed...
Aidan was not the only one having a heart attack...

So what did they do, they gave up and headed inside without us...

These are pics from the weekend before at the lake...
