So my awesome boss had the thoughtfulness to email me me from Hawaii with a special sighting. He is there on his honeymoon and while they were in Maui, he stumbled upon this:

M.I.A.
We are excited about the upcoming LONG weekend! YAYAYAYAYAY. Aidan and Chad are headed north for some fishing. Well, Aidan is going to Grandma and Grandpa's in Iowa, and Chad is heading to MN for some fishing with the boys. Mark, Lee, Chad, Aidan and Lacy are driving up today. Aidan is so excited. He keeps talking about fishing in the pond and trains of course. Mama is having a super fun weekend with the girls. We shall return to the blogging business next week sometime!! Have a happy Memorial Day!!

Woo Hoo
I am excited to report that Aidan is kicking butt on the potty business. We have gone 5 days with dry diapers/pull ups. He really isnt too into underwear yet, but he is keeping his pull ups dry so I am okay with that!! so YAY!! He gets so excited when he does go. He also wants everyone else to go and he wants to hear you "tinkle" and says things like, "Good job, mom!" LOL oh lord...

Update #2: Potty Training
Oh yes, a potty training post. Okay, so Aidan had previously refused/hated/screamed/cried/practically died every other time when we attempted this. BUT I am happy to report the little man wore underwear all day yesterday and NO ACCIDENTS. He is totally into the potty now. He will even tell us when he needs to go. We are still taking him to "try" often as to avoid the whole pee-on-the-floor thing. I will admit when he doesn't want to go try, I remind him that if he doesn't he may have pee running down his leg. Yeah, a little scare tactic never hurt anyone :) So yay Aidan!! We are so proud.
Tonight he is excited because he is staying at grandma's since we don't have daycare tomorrow. He LOVES going there. So hopefully mama can clean up the mess that the tornado named Aidan has created in our home.

Shredhead Update
So, it's been a week-ish of shredding. I have to admit, not a whole lot of shredding happened over the weekend with all the activities and visitors. I have been on it though this week and it is still intense, but I have definitely noticed the change in my arms. They aren't limp noodles anymore, they even have a hint of definition. Woo hoo! Maybe photos will come one day LOL, maybe week 3. Just an update!

Big Weekend
There was a lot going on this weekend with Mother's Day and Lizzy's college graduation. My grandparents were able to come in on Friday. Aidan spent the day in Jeff City on Friday and had a great time with them. We hung out on Friday, had the BEST BBQ ever at Lutz's (it is in a gas station, seriously), and then headed home.
Saturday was Lizzy's graduation. Aidan and I went to pick up her cake in the morning. He thought it was the best thing ever and since we have had a bunch of birthdays lately, he kept saying, "Happy Birthday to Lizzy." We left to meet up with my parents, grandparents, my grandpa from Texas and Aunt Mary who came in from KC. Aidan was being such a ham. Here he is "sleeping" when we are trying to leave:
Aidan and Grandma at graduation...
So how long does a 2 1/2 year old last at a college graduation without something to do? Not long at all. So what do you do when you run outo f all the snacks that Grandma brought? You give him the camera and say have fun...
Actually the picture of my dad is pretty good!! Not too shabby!!
Um, yeah now we know who has the camera, what a lovely floor...
Say cheese Grandpa!

Lizzy getting her diploma :) Aw how she loves Dr. Smith!

Mom and Aidan after...
After graduation, we all headed over to our house for some BBQ. Can you tell we love some barbeque!!! It was great. The weather was perfect!
Lizzy and the Grandpas
Lizzy and her beau, Brad
Mom, Lizzy and I...

Aidan was not into photos at all. All he wanted to do was drive his truck, so that is what he did.
All the ladies: mom, Lizzy, me, and our grandma (or Boogey as Aidan now affectionately refers to her as)

After we ate, the "cool" people loaded up into the truck and headed for Finger Lakes to test our my pistol. LOL yes, quit laughing, I do own a 9mm pistol (thanks to my men for Christmas).
All in all, it was a lovely day. Though, being outside that day really kicked my butt later with the allergies. I have never had them like I have them now. We have had a ton of flooding this year and the mold and pollen are through the roof right now. Oh well, that's what meds are for!!

Brad, me and Aunt Mary in the back of the truck...Grandpa was actually back there too. We were trying to show how we were packaged in there like sardines, but clearly that didn't work.

I had a great Mother's Day. My boys woke with up with a gift, a PINK CHI. YAY!!! I have been wanting one FOREVER. I always moped about my wannabe CHI straightener so the boys took it upon themselves to get mama a pink one for Mother's Day. I was stoked! We had a lovely lunch and took Aidan to the mall to play. Other than that, very low key day. I went to the gym and Chad mowed the lawn with Aidan. I got to watch my Desperate Housewives (OMG seriously, what is going to happen next week?!?! Dave is freaky!!) and then attempted to watch the season finale of Brothers and Sisters when our ABC went out. SERIOUSLY!? Are you kidding me?! Ugh, so now I have to find out what happened with the Walkers on my own!!
Nothing else going on this week. I get to judge the 9th grade cheerleading tryouts this Friday, which is my favorite thing to do every year! It is so much fun. Other than that, nothing exciting.
Have a great week!!

My New Sworn Enemy
Darn you Jillian Michaels and all your fitness-promising glory!! I was recently informed of the awesome-ness that is Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. I am a sucker for this crap so of course I ordered myself a copy courtesy of Amazon.com (It was only $9 if you are interested, which you may be after reading this, ha). I waited patiently and got the golden package last Friday, but who can begin a fitness routine on a Friday? That is absurd. The big plan was to begin Monday.
Monday came along and I realized I go to hip hop class on Monday so that AND Jillian may do me in anyways. I figured I would "shred" on days I am not going to hip hop. So I sweated it out on Monday. Tuesday I felt pretty crappy since my allergies were killing me. My eyes looked like I had been bawling for 5 days straight so that was pleasant. BUT I WAS DETERMINED. Thus, I met Jillian last night, and MY WORD.
So I bring to you, 30 DAY SHRED: DAY ONE
It was the most intense, heart attack-inducing, leg gelifying (is that a word?) 18 minutes (YES, I said 18 minutes) of my life. You may laugh at the ridiculous thought of 18 minutes being difficult or doing anything for you, but BOY DID IT. That woman is nuts. It kicked my hiney. I wanted to quit, especially when I felt my knees buckling, but it must be all those years of watching her yell at Biggest Loser contestants, but I WAS AFRAID of Jillian. I was waiting for her to reach thru the TV and BEAT ME if I quit. So, I finished, and then died. But I am now devoted to Jillian for the next 30 days. Woo hoo.
So my friends, if you want your butt kicked courtesy of a very tiny, ripped woman, this is the best thing ever. I shall keep you posted as I know you are on pins and needles.

How was your weekend?
Why thank you for asking. It was lovely. The weather was surprisingly superb (it was supposed to rain all weekend long, but didn't). We did a lot, but not really technically. Let's review:
FIRST OFF, there is an update on the horticulture miracle in my flower pot. Please note the massive progress on this little flower (if only I had any idea what exactly it is going to grow in to). We threw the packet with the flower info on it in the trash after Aidan sprinkled the seeds because come on, those weren't going to grow.
We went to visit the grandparents in Jeff City on Saturday. Grandma and Grandpa took him to his favorite spot, the train station. They watched trains forever.

Aidan felt it necessary to be outside almost the entire day, even snacks and meals were held outdoors, often on the teeny tiny table as seen below...
He even helped Grandma mow...
Aidan showed Grandma his driving skills on the ol' dumptruck. He is quite the speedster with the 2nd gear now.

The dogs even joined us outside. Dogs you say? I only see one well-behaved dog in that photo...
Oh right, there the other one is, so well-behaved and not crazy at all...
Aidan put these on this way (obviously)
I also thought I needed to post some pics of Aidan's new big boy room. He is obsessed with the trains as you can see so what else would his new room be decorated with? It's not done yet but it is presentable at this moment. His other Grandma made the awesome Thomas the Train curtain for that window.

End of the week
In the last two days Aidan has FINALLY started to accept the whole idea of using the potty. BIG YAY. I definitely was beginning to think I would just have to explain to him before he went to kindergarten that we should probably use the bathroom instead of diapers, but there is hope now! He asked to go last night and wanted to go first thing this morning. He also told me that only babies wear diapers and he doesn't like them (diapers, not babies). Let's keep our fingers crossed!
The weather has been pretty crappy the last few days. Aidan was able to go outside with his dad last night for awhile with his big ol' dump truck. I met up with Regina for some shopping. Not sure what we will do tonight since it again looks like rain. Aidan is praying for Bonkers, but I don't know if I am up to that yet! Tomorrow, he and I are going to go to Jeff City to see Grandma and Grandpa. Aidan already told me he is going to see trains, have snacks and play outside. He then said, "Mom, I'm excited."
He has become quite the repeater- so that's wonderful, lol. There is no end to his vocabulary and he talks non-stop. He has made the official transition to a regular bed. He has a new room which I hope to get pictures of when it is completely done (I am in search of this silly shelf-thing that seems to be impossible to find now that I need it). Not much else going on here! Can't believe it's May already!?!
