Week in Photos

Warning: LOTS of photos to follow

I have been slacking on the posting lately for obvious reasons so here is the last couple of weeks to catch you up! Chad's family got to come up her first week to see Elin. This is Preston and Michael with Elin: While Chad's parents were here, they were kind enough to take some photos of Elin for us. Here are some of the proofs we just got back...they are awesome :)
The headband was a gift from Aunt Brandi and Uncle Lee:
So was the lovely cross necklace...

Aidan is still loving his baby sister...hopefully that lasts :)

We have been keeping busy to say the least! This weekend Chad is going to take Aidan to the air show in town. I am hoping to take Aidan to see Shrek. We will hopefully get out to enjoy the awesome weather too!!

2 Week Stats

At Elin's 2 week appointment, she weighed 7 lbs 14 oz (1 pound in 10 days!) and was still 19 inches. This puts her in just about the 50th percentile. That is a tad different than Aidan's 90th!!

1st Week Home

Things have been busy at home to say the least! We have made it through the first week :) Here are some pics. As soon as our wireless Internet is up and running, I will be back with regular posting. Before leaving the hospital, Daddy and Elin... Home getting her first nail clipping...not an easy task!

Mommy was worn out :)
The proud big brother and "his baby"

Mommy wasn't the only one that was worn out from all the action!! He WAS watching a movie, but Chad peeked in a few minutes later to check on him and this is what he found...

Our Mizzou Tiger basketball player...
Elin has turned out to be a super baby! She rarely cries (I probably just jinxed everything right there). She gets up a bit to eat but goes back to sleep relatively easily so it hasn't been too bad! Hopefully the weather warms up a bit so that we can get outside and walk. I have some pics from this past weekend when Chad's family came to visit and hopefully will get those up really soon!!

Elin's Birthday

I guess the "baby whisperer" was 99% right about the May 5th thing. I was pretty crabby that day when nothing seemed to be happening. I actually emailed my doctor asking for a mercy-induction for this upcoming Saturday since it would only be a few days early :) Ha, didn't need that apparently. We got home from work on Wednesday, ate dinner and took Aidan for a walk around the block. Everyone got settled down for the night and we had just gotten in bed at about 9:30 (party animals that we are). Not 2 minutes later, I felt a little something, um warm, on my leg and JUMPED out of bed. Oh lordy, my water broke. Well I actually wasn't sure at that moment. I thought I had peed my pants at that point LOL. I told Chad that I thought my water had broken. He said, "are you sure?" My answer, "um no." So I thought I would just go see if I had to pee. Well, let's just say I became quite sure that my water had broken. GLAD I WAS AT HOME. This wasn't the gentle trickle, this was the movie-kind of water breaking. We called our neighbor to come over to sit with Aidan until my parents could make it and we headed to the hospital.
By the time we had gotten there, EVERYONE was sure my water had broken and they checked us right in. The contractions had started so I was hooked up and monitored. My mom and dad were at our house just 25 minutes later or so, so Aidan was set. The doctors decided to start oxytocin to get me moving along since the water breaking. Chad thought we should document the fact that the contractions were now registering off the charts :) Good thing for an epidural... Oh and this is his documentation of my "smile" during the said-contraction...
Things got a little scary as Elin's heartrate decided to plummet with every contraction. Apparently this is common with water-breakers. It scared the crap out of me. They had me roll to one side then the other to see if it helped. Finally they opted to put me on oxygen (SCARY) and it seemed to help enough. Luckily I was a fast laborer. Five hours later I called the nurse because I was feeling some pressure, they checked me and I was to an 8, YAY! She left and I buzzed her 5 minutes later asking what the heck was going on because there was A LOT of pressure now. Seems we were ready to go! They called the docs in and 7 minutes and 3 contractions later, little Elin Grace was here. Every doctor was absolutely SHOCKED that she was only 6 lbs 14 oz. Aidan was 9 lbs 4 oz and they were all SURE she was at LEAST that...ha, delivery was a lot different that is for sure! She came out screaming her head off and we were thrilled!! Everyone is doing good. Aidan loves being a big brother (So far, ha).

Hanging Out

This weekend we hung pretty low. Thursday night Grandma and Grandpa came up for dinner and some birthday treats for Grandma. Aidan took Grandma for a bike ride that evening up and down the street. He was having a blast... Supervising...
Racing Grandma
We finally got our new furniture for the living room. I have never been so happy to see a recliner in my life! I need to get a coffee table (I want a vintage trunk) but we are holding off for a while because I hate having a coffee table with a baby...I like the extra room and the lack of things for them to bump into...
We had some pretty good storms over the weekend. On Saturday we saw this pretty rainbow out in the back. It was a full rainbow but I couldnt get it all from our back porch...
I also got new bedding for our room. We had to change out our old comforter because it was SO HEAVY for the summer and we have had it forever. It was time for a change!
Since I changed the bed, I figured I should change our bathroom to go with it...don't worry Chad, it all cost like $15.00... hehehe...
Saturday, Aidan went to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's. He had a super time and was completely worn out when he came home on Sunday. Chad and I did a whole lot of nothing. We went out to dinner, watched the Kentucky Derby, went to bed early. Ha, we are wild :) Now we are just hanging on, waiting for this silly baby!!

Pregnancy Week 39

Weight: +1.5 this week
Blood Pressure: 121/77
Baby Heart: 150
Dilating?? Nothing on Friday 4/30, but today I was about 2cm! Hurray! Doctor also said my cervix is completely soft and he would be shocked if I made it to my next appointment. LET'S HOPE HE IS RIGHT PLEASE :)
Baby Station: -2
Doctor also said baby is veeeerrrry low. I can definitely feel this aspect, lol...
So let's just hope for a baby this week. The "baby whisperer" at work says I will have her on Wednesday. Lordy I hope he is right!!
