My mom and I head to meet him and I see him hobbling back with blood all over his back. It was awful. We all eventually convinced him to go to the Urgent Care clinic to have it looked at because he couldn't breathe comfortably and he definitely needed a tetanus shot!! So, I took him and the damage came to: a fractured rib, bone bruising, a large laceration down the back, a tetanus shot and a round of antibiotics (because he fell in the lake and the lake is nasty). Here is a picture of the cut BEWARE IF YOU DONT LIKE ICKY THINGS...I did try to blur out my dear topless hubby's pic for his sake and yours :)
We came home after that. My mom and dad came up shortly after with Aidan and have been assisting me at home with the kiddos while I help him about the house. He is resting today, but really stiff. Luckily I have amazingly helpful, caring parents who are there now making sure he is fed and medicated regularly :) THANK YOU MOM AND DAD! We appreciate it TONS!!!!!!!!!!

The Lake!
We headed off to the Lake this past weekend. Chad was meeting up with our friends down there to play some golf so we decided to make a weekend of it! We got down on Friday night and just hung out a bit. We went over to the Kraz's condo and Aidan got to play with the boys and fish a bit. Actually, Aidan didn't fish, he watched, BUT he did touch a fish a couple times--WHICH SHOCKED ME. The boy is scared of a dragonfly but will touch a fish, go figure! First thing Saturday morning, Aidan was ready to go for a waverunner ride. He LOVES riding them. He is actually pretty brave.
On their way up to the deck to wave to me, they met up with some friends...
This was Elin all day...this was a gift from my friend Jamey...I can't tell you how many "aws" we got that day!!! Probably the last bikini her father will ever let her wear :)
Grandpa and Grandma joined us on Saturday...Grandpa feeding his little girl...
We need to talk about this picture:
My mom has a picture from my wedding up at the condo. Chad and I got married in Hawaii. It was a Hawaiian wedding so there are lots of flowers, leis, etc. Aidan saw the picture and remembered there are lots of play leis at the condo. Next thing I know he has Grandma dressed up and he comes out to announce he is getting married to Grandma. It was pretty darn cute. Well, 5 minutes later Grandma must not have been the best catch because he asked me to marry him too :)

Mark, Rebecca and her family were also down at the Lake for a mini-vacation. They came over to visit as well. We had a super time. Aidan LOVES Rebecca's mom and sister :) Elin likes Rebecca too clearly...
Well the weekend was MOSTLY uneventful. Right before we were leaving for home on Sunday, Aidan asks Chad to take him for one more waverunner ride. So they head down to the dock with my dad and go on their way. Next thing I know, my dad is back at the condo telling me that we are going to need to help Chad when we see them coming back in. He had slipped on the dock while pushing the waverunner into the water. He fell in between the ski lift and the dock, scraping the 2 x 6 all the way down. It knocked the wind out of him and thankfully he had his life jacket on or the injury would probably be worse. It took a lot of the force.

Too Funny
These two goofballs crack me up. Stephanie (and Kaitlyn) are the BEST to Aidan when he visits Iowa. Exhibit A...not too sure how many older girls would wear pillows on their head with the 3 year old from next door :)

Poor Aidan
So Aidan had on his leg what appeared to be some kind of little bug bite, thought it might be a spider bite. It started out looking like just a mosquito bite or something and he said it didn't bother him. We didn't think anything of it. Well yesterday it was looking BAD. It had red rings around the center with a pus (I know, gross)-filled center so I call the doctor. They wanted to see him of course. I took him in this morning and we got way more than just some cream for it. Apparently our buddy has a staph infection?! No bug bite whatsoever. We have no idea how he got it and the doctor says that you can you can just "get one." Well that wasn't the bad part, the bad part came when they said they have to drain the infection. That involved a big ol' needle and a lot of squeezing of Aidan's leg. Let's just say there was some major tears...poor guy. He was miserable. He recovered quickly after they were done and we were sent on our way with 2 antibiotic prescriptions. He is not contagious so he could go right back to school. He now thinks he is a rockstar for having a "needle stuck in his leg." Needless to say, we got an ice cream on the way back :)

Pics of Aidan and Elin
Here are some of the pictures that Luke and Ruthie took of the kids while we were in Iowa. Aidan was SO EXCITED to take pictures in the studio. He thought it was just the coolest place ever :)

Baby Body Goals
Today I am begininning my quest for 20lbs...losing 20 that is, not adding...I am hoping that if I have to be accountable in some way it will assist in the desire to actually follow through with this big plan. My goal is to lose 2 lbs each week. Apparently, per everything I read, this is an attainable goal. I am not crazy, so I will definitely NOT post my weight here, instead we will just go with the starting weight loss desire
TODAY: 20
Hopefully I shall report the LOSS next week!

Random
Now that I am back at work, I can post a lot more regularly (ha!) and get my pics out of my camera. This is probably one of Aidan's favorite things to do. He loves to crawl under the playmat with Elin.
Chad played in a golf tournament the other weekend so Grandma and Grandpa Hogue came to stay. Grandpa hanging out with Elin in the morning...
Aidan and Grandma...
July 6th was my dad's birthday. We celebrated with a Toy Story and Spiderman cake...hmm wonder who LOVED those...
Aidan could hardly wait to dive into those cakes. PS...red and black frosting is NOT a good idea...for anyone :)
It has been insanely hot these last couple of days so not a lot of fun outside. Yesterday, Chad and his dad powerwashed the deck. Looks like new! This is the most boring post ever, I know. On a more exciting note, Elin slept from 10:15 last night until 5:30 this morning! I sure hope that wasn't a fluke!

Back to Work
Today was my first official day back at work. It was great to be back. I missed the people lots :) It was also great because Elin got to stay at home still! Grandma and Grandpa Van Roekel are in town for the week so that Elin can hang out at home for one more week before heading to daycare!! We appreciate it tons!! It makes the transition much easier. So I am happy to be back at work and Grandma and Grandpa are enjoying some Elin time!!!

Elin's 2 Months Stats
Today was Elin's 2 month appointment. Her weight is 11 lbs 5 oz (50-75 percentile), height/length is 22 inches (50th percentile) and her head is 39 cm (I think those are measured in cm, lol--which is also the 50th percentile). So she is pretty average sized! Quite a difference from our supersize baby Aidan!! Here is Aidan and Elin last night:

4th of July!
Aidan got home from his trip to Iowa just in time to celebrate the 4th! First, here is a picture of a little day in JC that Elin and I had last week...
Back to the 4th, Aidan really wanted to light some fireworks this year so we did some small ones at home. Actually they were the ones we got last year but he was too scared then to try them! He had a blast, but clearly this someone didnt:
Elin had no clue what was going on and was quickly asleep. Lizzy came over to sit with Elin because we were taking Aidan down to the stadium to watch the big fireworks display. They would have been too loud for her this year.
So this was Elin's 4th of July:
We got down to the stadium and they had a bunch of kids things going on. Aidan got a fireworks tattoo:
We parked right across from the stadium so we would have a super seat for the display:
