Football Game and Treasure Hunting
We had a super fun weekend! Friday, Mark came into town and he and Chad played in a golf tournament. They got third! We all hung out at the house that night because Saturday we were going to the MU game! Chad got up super early and went hunting of course. Rebecca came into town with their neighbors, Steve and Tina. They were sooo fun. We had the greatest time. I know Mark will love that I put this pic online, but I love Elin's face in it...
We all got ready to go to the game. Aidan was pumped to sport his Tiger gear. We were meeting up with our friend's tailgate. Steve and Tina had never had the full "tailgating experience" so of course we had to go to Trops. We thought we would park by Trops since it was such a pretty day. Holy Moses, that is a loooooooooooong walk to Hearnes Center. Ha!
Before the game...

The Crew (minus Elin and Chad, who were waiting across the street)...notice Aidan's "baby Trops"
Lizzy (she joined us before she had to go to work, sorry no Trops for her!), Rebecca, me and Tina

Aidan was so excited that our tailgate was right behind Hearnes because the band, Golden Girls, Truman and the firetruck all line up there. We had to go over and check it out!

Sunday we took Rebecca and Mark over to the farm. Steve and Tina had to head back early that morning. They braved going inside the old house (see photo below of the creepy old house) and treasure hunt...
Imagine our surprise to find this:
Sitting in the old house, was this plaque-thingy. Totally random!! The fluffy scarf around it is obviously mine and not some rare find :) I waited kindly in the car with Elin. No way was I going in that place until after the first freeze when all the snakes, spiders, etc would die or freeze or anything!! Good job to the brave treasure hunters. Must have been fate that we bought that place!
We had another open house that afternoon. We had people come back for a third visit so hopefully something come from that!! Other than that, just another week ahead!
We are planning on going to the Roots N Blues N BBQ festival this weekend. Aidan's friend's parents compete in the BBQ competition so we can get some delish food!!
Enjoy your Monday!

Things, er TV shows, I LOVE right now...
I make no secret of our love of tv. If we are not watching it, it is on. I need the background noise. The cable company once accidently disconnected our cable instead of our neighbors and we had NO TV for a weekend. It was torture. Good job to those of you that don't love your tv shows like I do. But these are the shows I can't live without right now...
The Rachel Zoe Project...I am not only dying when that show is on, I am literally dead...
Flipping Out... I told Chad we need a Zoila of our own
Real Housewives (Jersey of course...DC is really not my thing...though my Atlanta ladies are coming back soon too!!!)
CLEARLY I am fully vested in Bravo...I heart Andy Cohen :)
Dancing with the Stars
Jersey Shore...yup, that's right. Jersey-friggin Shore. It is like a trainwreck. I can't stop watching it. Smooshing, GTL, DTF...darn right I know what all those mean LOL
Of course, Jerseylicious is awesome. Hmmm...I am wondering if we need to sell the farm and move over to Jersey!
I am thrilled that Fall TV is coming back. Tonight is MODERN FAMILY!!! That, my friends, is a funny show. You simply can't miss it.
On a random TV note, we have started watching a lot of Ice Road Truckers and get this: Swamp People... It is all on History Channel. Aidan LOVES those shows. Swamp People isn't creepy like it sounds. It is about peeps in the bayous that hunt alligators for a living. And if you are worried that he is watching people slay up some gators, relax, nothing nasty/violent/icky is shown...totally fine for my buddy.
Sheesh, I just don't know what I would do without my shows. And thankfully, I have a husband who will suffer through Bravo with me. I think he secretly likes some of the shows ;)

We are Exciting...
...Not really. We had a weekend at home. Chad went hunting EARLY Saturday. We did a whole lot of nothing really. Grocery store, Old Navy, boring, blah blah. I think the most exciting part of that adventure was the power going out in Old Navy while Aidan and I were in there. He thought it was awesome. I was annoyed. Chad and Aidan had a bonfire Saturday night. They had a ball. Sunday we had pizza with Lizzy and it was bath night. I know, you are beside yourself with excitement. No pizza for Elin. She was sad, but she did get to enjoy some deeeeeeeeelish rice cereal. Poor thing...

Poor Aidan...I mean, Poor Mama
So today I notice a red splotch, if you will, on my upper arm. I think nothing of it. After lunchtime, it is realllllyyy burning. I look at it and hmmm, that looks familiar. I call my dermatologist and they get me right in. Guess who has a staph infection??? Yup. They lanced it--OWWWW--I know how Aidan felt now!! and sent it away to test it. Aidan had MRSA. Hoping mine isn't that way! The doctor said it was a super early infection so that is good I guess. And apparently, a way to "cleanse" all this away is to bathe in Clorox (as in BLEACH)...obviously not straight bleach, but a bleach bath nonetheless. Nothing sexier than a bath in some Clorox!!!!

Aidan's Party
This weekend we had Aidan's party for him and his friends. We went to a local gymnastics facility. Aidan was soooo excited. Grandma and Grandpa came to join in the fun as well! He had 8 of his friends come to help celebrate. They had the entire gym for an hour and then we had cake after.
You couldn't keep your eyes on them for more than a few seconds before they were off to the other end of the gym for something else. They had the trampolines, the vault thingy (I have no idea what these gymnastics things are called), the balance beams, and rope, among other things, for the kids to play on.

I think the foam pit was everybody's favorite!
The whole crew...yes, it is very hard to get a very excited group of 4 year olds to pay attention long enough for a photo :)
Aidan's "hunting" cake...yes, that is a man trying to shoot a deer...Aidan picked it out...the boys all thought it was awesome.
When we got home, we got the kiddos ready to go to grandma's so that Chad and I could use the evening to get ready for our open house. I took Grandma and Grandpa out to the farm to check it out as they hadn't been there yet. When we got home, Aidan and Elin left with them.
Chad and I picked the kiddos up Sunday afternoon. We had a good open house with a potential buyer situation so we are hoping that goes well!!!

Couch to 5K
Elizabeth and I started the Couch to 5K this week. This is Week 1 and we will be doing Day 3 tomorrow. We have survived the first 2 days of running. I hate running. I have no idea why I thought this would be a super idea, but apparently it works for lots of people to get fit...we will see. It is actually not too terrible...yet. The whole thing takes 9 weeks. That is a long time, LOL. Wish us luck!

4 years and 4 months
Today we had check ups for the kiddies. Today was Aidan's 4 year check up and Elin's 4 month. Here are the stats:
Aidan
46 lbs (75 percentile)
41.5 inches tall (90 percentile)
Elin
14 lbs 14 oz (75 percentile)
24 inches (50 percentile)
Don't remember the exact head measurement but it was the 50 percentile as well.
Both kiddos got a bunch of shots of course...but Aidan will be good thru kindergarten now and Elin is good until her next check up :)

Labor Day
For Labor Day weekend, we headed to the Lake. Chad went down Friday to work and then played some golf when he was done. Elizabeth, Elin and I headed down after work. Aidan was the lucky one and got to go Friday morning with Grandma :) Before we headed out of town, we wanted to pick up some "party favors" of course. We went to Hy Vee because I was in search of my new most favorite thing in the world, Kriek beer. DELISH. It's a Belgian cherry-type beer. You must try it! While we were there, we found the craziest thing, alcoholic WHIPPED CREAM. Seriously?! Of course we have to buy some. So here is our find, Whipahol (LOL) in the Spiced vanilla flavor...
If you can't quite read that, it contains 18.5% alcohol. That is just nuts, lol!
Here is what I was searching for. We were out at our friend's place the other night and she had this. It is the best stuff ever...
So we got down to the Lake and just had a relaxing time! Elizabeth's friend Becca joined us as well. Elin was in a happy happy mood : )
Aunt Elizabeth and Elin...Elin was no where near as excited as we were about her coordinating outfit and hat...
Of course Aidan was the fish, in the pool as much as we would let him!
On his "waverunner"
Saturday night we met up with our friend Coby for a grown up time out!
First, we had to watch Mississippi State play Memphis. They won. Coby celebrated with his cowbell...

We then headed to Shady Gators. It was packed. We had a blast though!
This is the view of the cove from the deck...those lights are what used to be called the Horny Toad
Over at Lazy Gators...
