Real Housewives REAL Estate

Remember when I showed you Camille Grammer's Colorado home that was listed for sale?? Well, now that she and Kelsey Grammer have made a divorce settlement, they are selling their Beverly Hills home as well. For $17.9 MILLION. It's kind of amazing. Apparently they only paid $4.5M back in 1998...that's a nice profit huh?
The house has 6,645 square feet, 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The kitchen? Was PERSONALLY designed by Wolfgang Puck. Must be nice!!! It has a library, home theater, a 9 stall barn, lighted tennis court and a guest house. Just to name a bit! Not to mention amazing ocean views. Someone buy this for me. Please.

The kitchen that Mr. Puck designed:
I am pretty sure I could be Top Chef with a kitchen like that. I love beams and dark wood.

How about that house to make you feel good about yourself? Ha. Considering this is just ONE of the THREE $15M+ houses they are selling...sheesh.

Happy Friday

We have had a busy week around here...first full week of school. The blog has been slacking. Hope to have my stuff together next week :) The kiddos are getting baptized this weekend. Baseball practice on Saturday. Birthday party tonight. Who knows what else?? Our Aidan turns 6 on Monday!!
Hanging on the back porch reading books while dad grills
Elin loves 1) PRINCESSES   2) BOWS   3) Ballet shoes AKA PRINCESS shoes

On a side note, what do you wear to baseball practice? As a spectator. In case you needed any ideas, Elin suggests this:
Because "it's hot and bright at baseball, mommy."

State Fair

After his first morning at school, Aidan and I spent the day at the State Fair. Look how tiny he appears next to one of the Budweiser Clydesdales.  Just some random phone pictures from our day :)

                                                                          Happy Monday!

1st Day

Aidan had a great first day of kindergarten! He and his best bud, Maci:
Like I said, he has his two buddies in class with him. He was so excited to ride the bus. He insisted on taking his lunch too.
Lori was awesome enough to snap some pictures of the first day going to the bus:
They were all so excited that they wouldn't stop for an official picture :) It was a race! I asked him afterschool if he liked daycare or kindergarten better, and he said kindergarten...because you can ride the bus. Sidenote, the most important piece of information he wanted to share afterschool?? "Mom, the bus does NOT have air conditioning?!?!"

Kindergarten

Our baby started kindergarten today. Well, officially it started yesterday, but kindergartners get to show up whenever they want, stay awhile and then leave with their parents. Today is the first REAL day. Aidan was so excited. He wanted to bring his lunch and he got to ride the bus from daycare. Such a big kid now!!!! I was so nervous about the bus! It is funny because going to kindergarten didn't make me sad, but thinking of him going on the bus did!!
Tuesday we had open house. This is Aidan at his locker that night:
How cute is it that kindergartners get lockers??? We just had coat hooks in the back of our classroom. These kiddos get real lockers!! Aidan was THRILLED to have 2 of his best buds from daycare in his class (their other buddy Ella is in the other class). Maci and Aidan ride the bus together in the morning and afternoon. Trace and Aidan:
Watch out. Those boys are going to be trouble together!! Needless to say, Aidan was so excited for today. I can't wait to hear how it went :)

When we got home from open house, our crazy kids had to hang outside as usual. Look at these goofballs:
Summer is over. School is in session! Time really is flying!!

Ricki Has A Party

Guess who had their birthday recently?? Little Ricki. I have never been a big fan of The Bachelor/Bachelorette series, but for some reason I followed Miss Emily's series. I was a BIG fan of Ari...Jef (with one F) just didn't do it for me. Anyhoo. So Emily threw a birthday party for Ricki and I am going to say how insanely jealous I am. Is it creepy that I want to be invited to her party???? It's amazeballs. It was put together by Anders Ruff. These are the pictures from their site where you too can buy the snazzy printables to have your own Bachelorette-kid party!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE lanterns and now am in love with the pretty girly lanterns!! I have to think of how to convince Elin that a "glamping" party is what she wants, NOT a Disney princess party. Hmm...

See the little box in the pictures below?? Those are part of the swag bag ths kids got that have the snappiest looking smores kit I have ever seen. ..

Seriously, I may have my own glamping birthday party this coming year!! If the Real Housewives can do it, I most CERTAINLY can have a glamping event!

So there you have it. The most adorable camping themed party I have ever seen. It is funny (strange, not "haha") that I found this this week. I was just talking to Aidan about his upcoming birthday and I was attempting to persuade him to have a camping party (Obviously not as pink and sassy as this one)...must have camping on the brain?!?! Which is also weird because I have never been camping in my adult life...actually since I was little and lived in Nebraska???!! So what makes me think I am some camping pro, I have no idea. But dang those parties are cute!!! Alas, it looks like there is a Pokemon party in my near future. I will have to save the glamping for the ladies :) All of these photos can be seen on the Anders Ruff website. It is a friggin cute website. Watch out. You will be looking for ways and reasons to have a party!

Welcome to America

Desk

The painting of the desk is complete! I finished my little Salvation Army project last night and now just have to put everything together! This is what I started with:
My Bombay Company desk:
Excuse the horrific cell phone photo, but I will post a better picture when the area is complete:
I used my trusty Annie Sloan paint in Florence, a limited edition color. The picture on the paint website shows the paint looking like this (with the dark wax applied):
It is pretty true to color. I was impressed by that. This desk is in a corner in our living room. It will be a little homework nook (you know, since my baby is going to kindergarten now, sniff sniff).  I need to get a chair. I am wanting one of these:

The living room is super neutral with just a few random pops of this teal hue. It connects with the kitchen and foyer. I am pretty much in love with how it turned out. Now to just finish it up!

PROJECT!

I got this desk (and chair) from the Salvation Army this week for $20. It is solid cherry and from the Bombay Company! Score!! I am in the midst of transforming it. I should have it done tonight. It is looking so amazing!! Check back tomorrow to see what has happened :)
